Formed in Melbourne in the mid-1990s, The Foots were a new collaborative project for singer-songwriter Jane McCracken and ex-Hurdy Gurdy and Slurper bassist/vocalist Eva Sommerfeld with drummer Stanley Paulzen (ex-Tlot Tlot) who was later subbed out for Colleen Keeffe.

Between 1996 and 2001 The Foots released two cassettes ('Pegs' and 'Ponchos') and two CDs ('The Foots' and 'Again...') and built a solid following regularly touring their warm and wistful pop songs around south-eastern Australia and New Zealand.
